Golden Retriever Adoptions

Successful Golden Retriever adoptions can be every bit as rewarding as purchases made from a breeder.

Why would anybody want to adopt a dog, anyway? Lots of reasons!

The best part about dog adoption is that you're giving a dog a second chance at life.

Statistics show that most Golden Retrievers end up at animal shelters or dog rescue centres through no fault of their own.

Sometimes their owners move to a place that won't accept dogs, or a divorce or death leaves the family dog homeless.

Golden RetrieverMany animal shelters and rescue groups offer guidance in matching dogs to suitable owners.

This helps them achieve more successful Golden Retriever adoptions.

They've already gotten acquainted with the dogs and are somewhat familiar with how much training and socialization they've had, and what lifestyle they'd best fit into.

Golden Retriever adoptions can be extremely rewarding. But they can also be very difficult.

Some rescue dogs have had a bad start in life and need experienced new owners to re-educate them.

Others have already been loved and trained as delightful companions, and are ready to slip right into your family routine without a hitch.

Do you want to adopt a Golden Retriever with registration papers so you can enter him in AKC competitions?

You may even be fortunate enough to come across such a situation at a Golden Retriever rescue.

When an owner gives his dog up for adoption, he'll bring any papers he might have, also.

Many Goldens and Golden-look-alikes don't have papers, but have the great looks and disposition to still be the dog of your dreams.

Your canine companion doesn't have to come with AKC papers in order to be your best friend.

Golden Retriever PuppyIf you're thinking you'll only find adult Goldens at rescue centers and animal shelters, think again.

You'll also find adorable Golden Retriever puppies for adoption.

They may or may not have papers, but they'll all have those endearing Golden Retriever traits!

It's true that you may not know the health and temperament backgrounds of these puppies.

But if you're willing to take a chance, they'll probably make excellent pets and companions. They just need lots of love, patience and training--like any puppy!

The adoption of Golden Retriever puppies from whatever source is almost guaranteed to bring you many years of happiness.

Golden RetrieverMaybe you’re retired and enjoy a quiet life, or perhaps your kids are grown and gone, and you just want a low-key canine companion.

In that case, a senior Golden might be just what you’re looking for.

Depending on his age, he may still have plenty of energy to keep you company on a long walk.

But he'll be more likely to settle down happily to an evening by the couch than a rambunctious puppy would be.

Most Golden Retriever adoptions are successful just because these dogs are some of the most loving, giving, friendly dogs around. They seem to know they're getting a second chance, and their gratitude knows no bounds.
