Do You Know Any Service Dogs? Share Your Stories!
Service dogs are specially trained to help physically, mentally and emotionally disabled people live fuller, more independent lives.
Golden Retrievers are one of the favorite breeds chosen for this training, as their intelligence, trainability, stability and loyalty help them perform their tasks flawlessly. These special dogs are used in many capacities, including: - Guide dogs for the blind or visually impaired
- Signal dogs for the deaf or hearing impaired
- Seizure-alert dogs
- Therapy dogs
- Emotional support dogs
- Helper dogs for the physically challenged
Do you have a Golden Retriever who helps you in one of these ways? Do you have a friend or relative who is helped by one of these special Goldens? Do you work with service Goldens in any capacity? We'd love to hear your story, so we can all enjoy "meeting" this canine helper. Don't forget a photo!
Tell Us About Your Golden Retriever Service Dog!
Your story--with photo--will be featured on its own page where other readers will be able to leave comments.
Some stories will even appear in the Golden News Ezine!
So please share the story of your own Golden Retriever service dog, or one that you know or work with. We'd love to hear all about him/her and see an "action" photo, too.
